"Hi, Mrs. Kirkland. I called to tell you how very much I appreciate how hard (teacher's name) has worked with my child.  Robin comes home excited about what she has learned and cannot wait to go back to school!"   A parent called me last school year with a very similar story and from that conversation, we developed the Honorable Mentions staff recognition program!

SDB staff are among the hardest working professionals I have ever had the privilege of working with.  It is a true honor when others see the value in the work that is performed within our walls each day.  You will never know how your words of appreciation brighten one's day!  I encourage you to help us continue this effort by completing an Honorable Mention note (these can be found on the small table outside the main office) and placing it in the white mailbox.  We will read these on our on-air announcements each Friday.  From your notes we will randomly select one of those staff members as our "Staff Member of the Week" and their name will be placed on our SDB marquee out front!
